Privacy notice

This is a courtesy English translation. The legally binding version is the Spanish one.

At Borboletas Casa Montessori we respect and protect your personal data. This notice describes how we process it, in accordance with Mexico’s Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP) and applicable regulations.

1. Data controller

The party responsible for processing your personal data is Borboletas Casa Montessori, with operations in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico. For any matter related to your privacy, or if you wish to obtain the full identity and address of the data controller, you may write to us at borboletasmontessori@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

When you use our contact form we collect:

  • · The parent's or guardian's name.
  • · Phone or WhatsApp and email address.
  • · Program of interest and the child's approximate age.
  • · How you heard about us and any message you choose to send.

We do not request sensitive personal data. Please do not include unnecessary information in the message field.

3. Purposes of processing

Primary purposes (necessary to assist you):

  • · To contact you and follow up on your information or pre-enrollment request.
  • · To schedule visits and answer your questions.

Secondary purposes (not necessary; you may decline):

  • · To send you information and news about the school.

If you do not want your data used for secondary purposes, you may tell us at any time by writing to borboletasmontessori@gmail.com; this does not affect how we handle your request.

4. Your ARCO rights

You have the right to Access, Rectify, Cancel or Object to the processing of your data, as well as to withdraw your consent (ARCO rights). To exercise them, send your request to borboletasmontessori@gmail.com, stating your name and the right you wish to exercise. We will respond within a maximum of 20 business days.

5. Transfers and processors

We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties for purposes other than those described here. To operate the site and send our communications we rely on providers acting as processors (website hosting and email delivery), who process the data solely on our instructions.

If you accept site measurement (section 8), Google also acts as a processor and handles that information solely on our instructions. Google operates servers outside Mexico, primarily in the United States, so that information may be processed abroad. The data you leave in our contact form is not transferred to Google: it travels only to our email inbox.

6. Images of minors

Publishing photographs or video of children is handled separately and requires prior, express, written authorization from the person holding parental authority or guardianship. We do not publish identifiable images of minors without that consent.

7. Community directory (voluntary participation)

The school maintains a community directory so that Borboletas families can get to know and contact one another; for example, to offer each other their trades or services. Participation is voluntary and optional.

The directory has two levels: a full list, visible only to families who hold the access code; and a public view, visible to anyone visiting this section of the site, showing only the families who expressly authorized it.

A family appears in the public view only if it granted its authorization. The data shown is: name, trade or service, and one means of contact (phone or WhatsApp). You may withdraw your authorization at any time by writing to borboletasmontessori@gmail.com; once you do, your data stops appearing in the public view. This section of the site is not indexed by search engines.

8. Cookies and measurement technologies

When you arrive at this site, no cookie is stored. Only if you give us permission do we use Google Analytics 4, a Google tool that helps us understand, in aggregate, which pages families visit and how we can improve the site.

If you accept, two first-party cookies for this site are stored in your browser (_ga and _ga_<identifier>), used to distinguish visits and sessions without knowing who you are. Your IP address is transmitted to Google to derive an approximate, city-level location, and Google discards it without storing it. We do not use this measurement for advertising, for profiling, or to identify you; Google Signals and advertising features are disabled.

Legal basis: your consent. We ask for it through a visible notice the first time you arrive, where accept and decline cost exactly the same: one click. If you decline —or if you choose nothing— measurement is not activated and the site works just the same.

How to withdraw it: you may change your mind at any time through the Cookies link in the footer; when you decline, the measurement cookies are deleted from your browser. You may also delete them from your browser settings, or write to us at borboletasmontessori@gmail.com.

How long they last: the measurement cookies expire after 13 months at most —your browser may shorten that period— and the information in Google Analytics is kept for 14 months, after which it is deleted. To remember your decision we store only that decision, a "yes" or a "no" with its date, in your browser's local storage: it is not a cookie, it never travels to any server, it does not identify you, and it disappears if you clear the site's data. We ask you again after six months.

9. Changes to this notice

Any change to this privacy notice will be published on this same page.
